Sexual Health Vocabulary - Male Anatomy


Penis

  • The tube-like external sex organ of males
  • Has many nerve endings, concentrated in the "head" or top part of the penis
  • Contains the urethra, out of which urine and semen come
  • Erection occurs when blood rushes to the penis
Prostate Gland
  • Near the bladder
  • Secretes one of the fluids that makes up semen
Seminal Vesicles
  • Two small pouches which produce one of the fluids that makes up semen
Scrotum
  • Sack of skin below the penis which holds the testicles or testes
Testicles (testes)
  • Sex glands that make testosterone and sperm
  • Hang behind the penis
  • Very sensitive to touch and temperature
Vas Deferens
  • The tubes through which sperm travel to get from the testicles to the prostate gland
Urethra
  • The tube through which semen and urine are discharge
